Terms of Use and Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

In short: our plans are monthly with no commitment, and you can cancel at any time. We need the right access and accurate information. Our 90-day guarantee promises measurable improvements or adjustments at no charge, but no one can guarantee that an AI assistant will cite your business. Your consumer rights, where they apply, are always respected.

1. Purpose and acceptance

These terms govern:

  • use of the https://citova.ca website (Part A);
  • the services Citova provides to its clients (Part B).

By using the site, you accept Part A. By subscribing to a plan, you also accept Part B. If a proposal or written agreement made with you sets out different terms, those take priority over these terms, subject to the rights the law gives you. The site’s publisher is identified in our legal notice.

Our services are aimed mainly at businesses. If you are a consumer within the meaning of Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act, that law applies and nothing in these terms limits the rights it gives you.

Part A: Use of the site

2. Permitted use

You may browse the site for your own information or that of your business. You may not copy or reuse its content without permission, attempt to compromise its operation or security, use automated means to query the visibility check tool, or use the form to send unsolicited or misleading messages.

3. Information provided on the site

The information on the site is general and provided for guidance only. The business names, reviews, results and charts shown in the mockups are illustrative examples and are not a promise of results. The prices and plan contents displayed may change; the applicable price is the one confirmed in writing when you subscribe.

4. Visibility check

The visibility check tool gives a snapshot of how certain AI assistants answer a question at a given moment. Its results are indicative only: assistants’ answers vary from one time to the next and do not necessarily reflect what your customers will see. In demo mode, the results shown are fictitious and are labelled as such.

5. External links

The site may contain links to other sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

6. Personal information

How we use your personal information is described in our privacy policy. The site does not use any cookies (see our cookie policy).

Part B: General terms of service

7. Our services

Citova helps businesses get cited and recommended by AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot or Grok), also known as GEO. Our services include:

  • organizing your online information so AI can read it (consistent information, structured data, content);
  • tracking AI assistants’ answers and AI visibility reports.

The exact content of each plan is described on the site or in the proposal provided to you. Citova is not affiliated with any of these platforms (see our legal notice).

8. Plan, pricing and payment

Our services are offered as a customized monthly plan with no minimum term, billed each month until cancelled. Its content and price vary according to your needs and are set out in a written quote. Before you subscribe, we confirm in writing the plan price, applicable taxes, billing timing and accepted payment methods.

We will notify you in writing of any price change at least 30 days before it takes effect. You may then cancel at no charge if you do not accept the new price.

9. Cancellation at any time

You may cancel your plan at any time, without penalty, by writing to us at leo@citova.ca. No month after cancellation will be billed to you. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the cancellation rights provided by the Consumer Protection Act.

We may also end the services, with written notice, if you do not meet your obligations (for example, in case of non-payment or a request that goes against platform rules).

When the services end, you keep full ownership of your website, your online listings and your accounts. We remove our access on request, or you can remove it yourself.

10. Access to your tools

To deliver our services, we may need access to your website, your online listings or other tools. You remain the owner of your accounts at all times. We will never ask for your passwords: access is granted through the sharing features built into each tool, where they exist.

11. Your obligations

So that we can serve you well, you agree to:

  • provide us with accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your business;
  • give us the necessary access and maintain it for the duration of the plan;
  • answer our questions and approve content within a reasonable time;
  • hold the rights to the photos, logos and content you send us;
  • let us know of any significant change in your business.

Delays or inaccurate information on your part can affect results; we will take this into account when assessing the work done.

12. 90-day results guarantee

Our guarantee works like this: if we do not achieve measurable improvements in your visibility within the first 90 days of the plan, we continue and adjust our work at no additional cost until there are some.

To be upfront with you:

  • the guarantee covers measurable improvements (for example, visibility indicators in AI assistants’ answers), not a specific answer, citation or ranking;
  • the guarantee takes the form of adjustments included at no charge, not a refund;
  • the guarantee assumes you have met your obligations (access, accurate information, answers within a reasonable time) during the period;
  • the measured indicators and their starting point are set out in writing at the start of the engagement.

This guarantee is in addition to the guarantees provided by law; it does not replace them.

13. No citation guarantee

AI assistants’ answers are determined solely by those platforms, based on criteria they do not fully publish and often change. No one can guarantee that an AI assistant will cite your business, or a permanent presence in a specific answer. Be wary of anyone who promises it. That is why our guarantee covers measurable improvements and adjustments, not a citation.

14. Compliance with platform rules

We work within the rules of the platforms and directories where your information is published. In particular, we refuse to:

  • create or buy fake reviews or mentions, or offer a reward in exchange for reviews;
  • publish misleading information about your business;
  • create listings for fictitious addresses.

We are not responsible for a suspension or penalty resulting from an action you took yourself or from a platform’s unilateral decision. If such a problem occurs, we will help you take the necessary steps.

15. Ownership of content produced

Once amounts owing are paid, the content created specifically for you (descriptions, Q&A content, structured data, reports, etc.) belongs to you, and you may keep it even after the services end. Citova retains ownership of its methods, tools, templates and general know-how.

16. Confidentiality

We keep the non-public information you entrust to us (access, performance data, business information) confidential and use it only to serve you. This obligation continues after the services end. The handling of personal information is described in our privacy policy.

17. Communications

We communicate with you about your file by email or phone. We will not send you commercial electronic messages without your consent, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, and every such message will include a simple way to unsubscribe.

18. Limitation of liability

We undertake to provide our services with care and according to professional standards. To the extent permitted by law:

  • we are not responsible for the decisions, outages or changes of third-party platforms (AI assistants, search engines, directories, etc.);
  • we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as loss of profits or customers;
  • our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us during the last three months of service.

These limits do not apply in cases of intentional or gross fault, or to bodily or moral injury. Nor do they apply to consumers to the extent that the Consumer Protection Act prohibits excluding or limiting a merchant’s liability.

19. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version is published on this page with its update date. For active clients, we will send written notice at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect; you may then cancel at no charge. The specific rules of the Consumer Protection Act apply to consumers.

20. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Quebec, subject to the rights the law gives consumers. Before any legal step, we invite you to write to us so we can find an amicable solution.
